Our Story

These two practical lovebirds first met in cyberspace. The stars had aligned during their online encounter because neither knew just how skeptical the other was.

It was towards the end of their trial subscriptions that they decided to give their first shot at luck (not to mention Raj's mom was pestering him about "his future"). Raj's eye caught one girl, whose profile simply consisted of a list of 15 random facts, including that she still cries every time Mufasa dies, she loves kids and old people (but no one in between), and she enjoys correcting people's grammar. Adorable AND weird.

Over the course of several messages, Bhavita learned that Raj is a tech geek, loves working for different charity causes, and that he will drop everything for a game of basketball. He eventually asked Bhavita out on their magical first date.

Anyone that knows Raj knows that he is an activities junkie — he likes doing anything and everything. So he planned a surprise activity as their first date. He only gave her clues like, "it involves aiming at targets" and that they would be going across the river to Brooklyn. He also strongly advised her to wear comfortable shoes.

If only you could catch a glimpse of the string of morbid thoughts running through Bhavita's head. She was certain this man was going to kill her. She would be the target he's aiming at, while she ran in her comfortable shoes — and he of course chose a remote part of Brooklyn, so he could dump her in the Hudson River afterwards. It's obviously the only possibility that made sense!

Raj instead surprised her with an archery lesson, followed by a cheese and chocolate dinner. As they lost track of time, they eventually professed their love for... magic. Raj showed Bhavita his best card tricks, and she pretended to be amused by them. Needless to say, the night ended without casualties and the rest became history…
